Trip highlights include a day of sightseeing and exploring the Mall area of Washington DC, with stops adjacent to the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Korean War Memorial and the Reflecting Pool. Plus, a stop at the Smithsonian American History Museum, with the nearby Washington Monument, the White House, the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and much more.
You’ll enjoy an afternoon along the canal in historic Georgetown, D.C.’s oldest neighborhood and famous for it's shopping and dining. We will visit the beautiful Smithsonian National Zoo, one of the most scenic zoos in America, and one of only two places where you can see Chinese Pandas. We will enjoy an included group dinner in Old Town Alexandria at the Wharf Restaurant, with time for shopping and exploring the cobblestone treets where George Washington himself walked over 250 years ago
And we will take in a baseball game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park, including a $25 concessions credit for each seat.
MONDAY JUNE 22nd - Depart Avalon Acme Markets Parking Lot at 15 Avalon Blvd off of exit 13 GSP across from Avalon Honda at 7:45am. One comfort stop and we will arrive at Georgetown Washington DC around noon. Bus leaves Georgetown at 3pm, checking in at the Doubletree by Hilton Largo/Washington DC. Bus leaving the hotel at 5:15pm for the Phillies/Nationals baseball game at Nationals Park, tickets and concession credit included. Return to hotel after the game.
TUESDAY JUNE 23rd – After included breakfast, we depart at 7:45am for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The bus drop off is convenient for the Lincoln Memorial, the Korean War Memorial and the Reflecting Pool. Bus leaves this location at 10am for drop off in front of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History for your day on the Mall. Bus will return for pick up at this location at 3:15pm, and will proceed to Old Town Alexandria, Virginia where we will have included group dinner at The Wharf restaurant on King Street. After dinner, there will be time for sightseeing and shopping, Bus will pick up at 7:15pm for return to hotel.
WEDNESDAY JUNE 24th – Check out of hotel. After included breakfast, we depart at 8:15am for the Smithsonian National Zoo. The bus will be departing the zoo at noon for return home. One comfort stop and expected arrival at the Acme parking lot around 4pm.
